It just has a giraffe standing in the same pose on every page with different designs in it. Absolutely not happy, I was expecting like a back ground but no I guess that's just to much work

I have many adult coloring books of a wide range of subjects and themes. I love giraffes so was excited when I came across this book, but what a let-down! Every single page in this book is just an image of a single giraffe -- every one approximately the same size and position on the page, just different inside designs and stance. There are no scenes, no backgrounds, no variety of poses, no pages with two giraffes or a giraffe with another animal or a tree, no page with 4 giraffe necks/heads (as shown on the cover)... just the same boring full-body giraffe facing left on every single page! One of the most uninteresting and low quality coloring books I own.

Absolutely wonderful amazing pictures to color. I wanted something to keep me busy while I heal from surgery. This was a lot of fun.I picked this one in particular because of April, Oliver and Tajiri in NY and Dobby in Denver.

I was expecting a variety of pictures but this book only has pictures of single giraffes with different designs in the bodies.

A great way to pass time . My daughter loves giraffes and this coloring book had more pages than I had expected in it most come with fewer pages and each page was clear to see and my daughter loves it .

My 8-year-old daughter loves giraffes and loves this book. She takes it with her on long car rides.

I love giraffes! This is definitely a change from the traditional adult coloring books. There was one geometric one that I loved so much that I colored it and have it framed in my bedroom. I may continue to do that and fill my apartment with giraffes. :)

There is only one giraffe to color on each page and besides the giraffe, the rest of the page is blank. It's still fun to color though.

I'm writing this review with blurry eyes because I need a nap and something to eat! This book kept me up and made me forget to eat. Even as illogical and unlikely as time travel is somehow Elyse Douglas made me believe in it. The story of Eve Sharland aka Eve Kennedy is so entertaining I wanted to believe it was a biography instead of a work of fiction. Douglas brings the gilded age to life in the eyes of a modern 21st century woman. I found myself wanting to yell at Eve to stop what she was doing because it wasn't acceptable during the time period. I wanted to find out what happened to the others in the story. I wanted to learn more about her future with Patrick. And I WANT THAT LANTERN! I am not discussing the plot because, honesty, it seems silly. Just trust me on this...read this book! Now, excuse me while I go read another Elyse Douglas book. After food and a nap...

What a sweet story. No gratuitous sex scenes. Particularly enjoyed reading this now during the Christmas season. The author did a wonderful job at describing NYC in the 1880s. Felt as though I was there. I love to lose myself in time travel romantic fantasies and this did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

This is my first time reading these authors and I must say I was very impressed. The Christmas Eve Letter is a well crafted romance novel. And I would imagine that fans of this genre will love having a nibble on this one! The authors weave an intriguing time travel holiday romance story that follows Eve Sharland's personal journey between the present and the past.This romantic tale is full of anticipation with several perilous and on the edge moments. The consequences of probable alterations to history and the future reflect deeply on the readers mind. However, those uncertainties only added to the ambiance and were skillfully and competently handled.The story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that's something I really look for in a good book.It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I don’t do spoilers so I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!This would be a highly recommended read from me to all fans of the Romance genre. I’d even go so far as to say that even sci-fi fans would enjoy the time travelling elements of this wonderfully written story! Without a doubt, I’ll be looking forward to reading more from Elyse Parmentier and Douglas Pennington (Aka Elyse Douglas) in the future. Five stars from me.

It took me a little while to get into it, but after I did I couldn't put it down. Time travel romances are my favorite in the Romance genre and this one had plenty of suspense too. I wasn't sure if Eve and Patrick were going to make it out alive. The characters were wonderful and I felt like I knew them. The secondary characters were well written too, and just as enjoyable. I thought this book was excellent. What a story...I loved it!

I have always thought time travel was so fun. Of course, I don't believe it, but movies and books have always intrigued me. I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the people and thought they were described very well. The description of the time and era was very good. I could picture it. I would have loved a movie because it would have become even more real. The story line was excellent. I DO appreciate the fact that it is just a great rich novel that one can jump in to, without sex and profanity. Authors feel like they HAVE to put that in, and honestly, if I ever see it in a review, even a whiff, I am not interested. And I think k there are many others out there like me.

Wow! As an author, I am selective in my reading. I read sample pages from many books yet rarely download and finish the novels. This is one book that I could not put down. As soon as I started reading the story, I was hooked. The detail, imagination, characters, and story line pulled me in and would not release me until I finished the book. Well done! I will certainly recommend it to my friends and those who read my novels.

Yes it has the happily ever after, but the true worth of the story is not the end - we all know that most have happy endings, The worth of a story is in the journey, I enjoyed this journey and I think you will too.Sorry you will need to go to other reviews if you want a re write of the book.

This is a wonderful well written descriptive story.WOW! I could not guess what was ahead of what I was reading, it was incredible. Eve was a nurse, and everything in this story was spot on as far as medical knowledge goes. Going back through time was very different to most time travel stories. Giving addresses, which I didn't check but which made the story so believable, added to the interest.

Anything by Christopher West is good. Get this for yourself AND your high school or college aged child or godchild before they begin making some big decisions. West really has credibility here as he opens up about some of his own experiences (his openness is a true act of charity). I was raised in an age of do's and don'ts with very little understanding of why. Catholic kids and adults need to understand that when it comes to sexuality they are protecting something very very GOOD ... not avoiding something bad. Misinformation about sex and Catholic sexuality is eveywhere ... read up on the GOOD NEWS! Follow up with any of Gregory Popcaks hilarious and informative books on relationships.

Really great book that will answer the tough and curious questions about both sex and marriage. A really good introduction to the teachings of Pope John Paul II about marriage, love , and sex. The best book for teenagers and young adults and offers the "why" to the Catholic teachings on contraception, marriage, and sex.

There were some surprising information of the Church's view on sex that I think people need to know. This is a great way to learn about what God's plans were for sex and marriage, and if you take the time to read this book you will realize how beautiful sex and marriage can be. If you are tired of what the world is telling you about sex and marriage, than I highly suggest you read this and learn what the Church says about it.

West explains what the Church really teaches about sex and marriage. Sex is not some shameful, dirty act, nor is it just an act of simple pleasure. It is a way of truly giving one's entire self to one's spouse. West goes into what that means, and what the implications are. I liked the book for what it is. If you want to learn details of various military actions, wars, or insight into leaders and power struggles, this 8th not the book. This is a pictorial review of weapons and military gear through the ages. Also machines of war such as ships, planes, tanks from early on and into the present. More of a browsing coffee table book than a reference book. But the pictures are very good, the book is quality and the explanations accompanying them is interesting. I enjoyed the book, and it might spark enough interest for someone to want to dig deeper into history. It is world wide not just American military items. Hope this is helpful.

My husband and I fell in love with DK (especially the Smithsonian line) during a trip to the Smithsonian museums. The books are filled with an immense amount of information which is presented in a fascinating, readable way. Of course the author couldn't include absolutely every single detail about the subject at hand, but they still did a wonderful job. The photos are gorgeous and a perfect complement to the information being presented. The books themselves have sturdy binding and stout construction.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas, along with several other military history books. He likes it. Well, our grandsons were also very interested. I bought one for brothers who are 10 and 12 and another for brothers who are 8 and 10. The reviews are Cool and Awesome!It has been my experience that if you buy a DK book, it is going to be good, with excellent pictures.

Many books try and get this balance between information/entertainment and very few succeed--but this book hits the mark--it will stay in my collection for years to come.

Hmmm, it's hard for me to give an honest, concrete rating to this because I've only been using it for two months... but for those interested, here's my input. I volunteer with first graders at a school where most students speak a language other than English at home. Their alphabet is a bit different, so vowel sounds vary. Some kids also have ADD/ADHD issues, so staying on subject can be difficult. For this reason, I like the book because the activities switch constantly so the students don't get bored. Some activities can be monotonous, or seem Really Basic, but these students who are challenged in phonetics still don't completely understand that (for example), the word "BIG" has THREE sounds: b, i, and g. They see the first two letters as one sound. So, there is a LOT of repetitiveness in separating the sounds, and we do this twice a week. I've been using this book and the material components for about 2 months, and it seems to be working pretty well. I am excited to see the progress as we keep moving forward, and if there are any changes, I'm happy to update.

When you are a parent, trying to help your child catch up on language development, this book is a wonderful tool for dispensing practical exercises. You do not have to have a Ph.D. or any special training to understand what to do as far as following the exercise instructions. Although the book was published for teachers or specialists, any parent can use this guide.

I really like this program for a kindergarten intervention. It is slow paced for those kids who need it. It is easy to follow and the materials in the back are easy to photocopy and use.

I am the parent of a 9 yo 3rd grader, recently diagnosed as dyslexic. Unable to get appropriate help from the school district, I have a tutor I am working with who suggested I use Road to the Code to help with phonemic awareness. It was very easy to follow and I was surprised how much my older child actually enjoyed the games. He recently finished the last lesson as has made significant progress with his short vowel sounds and letter recognition. He is also beginning to understand there is a logical "code" to attack words with. There is practically no skipping around a paragraph, looking for a "clue", like he was doing prior to this instruction. Now that he is on to more advanced curriculum, he sometimes asks to do some of the "Road to the Code" exercises for fun. I will definately use this program with my (non-dyslexic) kindergartener. The use of only the 8 most frequently used letters, the repetition, and variety of exercises are highly effective and simple. All materials are very low cost and easy to make. I wish they would have used this for him in kindergarten!!!!!

I am a reading interventionist and use this book with my kindergarten and first grade students are reading below grade level. I have found it effective and the students find it entertaining

Straight forward, easy to use. My first graders were very receptive to the 1:1 tasks from this program.

It is exactly what I needed to help my students become great readers!

Blachman knows her field. The book is full of lots of good ideas but needs some study and work on the part of the teacher. Well worth the effort to go the extra mile.

Bought these to send from time to time to my long distance boyfriend, and he seems to enjoy them. The back is blank to write personal notes on. They range from cute, sweet poems for a newer relationship to more intense poems for a more serious relationship.

I sent these to my husband who is encarcerated...and he just loved them for Valentine’s Day! He is encarcerated and we’ve been married for 50 yrs!

I love these. And they would make really cute stocking stuffers or just a nice gift. Each poem is on an individual sturdy card that you can tear out if you wish.

The authors have written three previous books on WWII battles. Normandy 1944 (by Zetterling alone) and Kursk 1943 (by Zetterling and Frankson), are not histories of the events but rather in-depth analyses of the underlying circumstances. They give the reader a great deal of insight as to why the battles turned out the way they did and are, to me at least, significant contributions to the history of WWII. The third book, Zetterling and Frankson's The Korsun Pocket, is much more a historical narrative but still has a significant amount of background material. All three books are based on solid research using German military documents. So I was a bit disappointed when I opened The Drive on Moscow 1941 and found that it was mostly a straight history with much less analyses than in the Normandy and Kursk books. This doesn't make it a bad book, but it's just not what I'm used to from the authors.Unlike the authors' first three books, this one has significant material from Russian sources, all of them secondary or the standard publications of primary documents such as the Sbornik boevykh dokumentov (Collection of Military Documents). This material is far from exhausting all that's available in Russian, but it does provide come context from the other side that is missing from the books on Kursk and Korsun. This is good thing. Not as good is the apparent depth of research into German archival documents at the U.S. or German military archives. If you look at the notes in any of the first three books, particularly the Normandy and Korsun ones, you'll find that most are sourced to NARA or BA-MA documents. In this book there seem to be fewer such documents and more secondary sources. Don't get me wrong; the book still uses more primary sources than most, it's just that the standard doesn't seem to be quite as high as in previous books.The bottom line for me is I was expecting more insight and instead got a standard recitation of events. Part of the problem may be that the topic is simply too big to cover in 250 pages or so. The authors' first three books will be turned to time an again when discussing those battles. I'm not sure you can say the same about this book, and that's why I'm giving it four stars. A good book, but not great.

After years of relative neglect in English-language historiography of the Second World War, the German defeat at Moscow in 1941 has been getting quite a bit of new coverage in the past few years, including books by Michael K. Jones, Jacky Radey, Rodric Braithwaite, David Stahel (pending) and even myself. In the The Drive on Moscow 1941, Swedish researcher Niklas Zetterling offers his take on why the German offensive - Operation Typhoon - failed and marked the beginning of the end for the Wehrmacht. Zetterling and his co-researcher Anders Frankson rely heavily upon German archival records, as usual, although there is more of an effort to incorporate Soviet sources in this book than in previous efforts by the pair. Overall, The Drive on Moscow is an interesting read, fairly well written and with twenty useful appendices at the rear of the book. However, the authors don't say anything particularly new and the coverage is a bit succinct at times. The lack of adequate maps is a major drawback. Thus, this is a good back to have on the back shelf but it's almost more of an introduction to this topic than a detailed campaign history. The authors begin by outlining German and Soviet plans in late September 1941. One thing I really appreciated is that the authors didn't spend a lot of time wallowing in Halder's diary as a means of trying to explain Hitler's plans. The over-use of Halder's diary has almost become a cliché in recent Eastern Front literature, with many researchers appearing not to "get it" that Halder was out of touch with front-line realities and that Hitler regarded him as merely a useful clown. As for this book, it would have been nice if some of the charts, tables in the appendices at the back were worked into the introductory sections, but c'est la vie. The campaign narrative proper begins on page 49, with Guderian's attack on 30 September and then quickly shifts to the Hoth/Hopner attacks. Details on Soviet dispositions and actions are a bit vague, as are some German actions. The authors later conclude that supplies were main limiting factor for the Germans - which has been said before - but missed the opportunity to add in German quartermaster data that might have confirmed this. In general, the authors seem to get the big picture right but sometimes miss on the details. Their discussion of 4th Panzer Division's defeat at Mtensk and the role of Katukov's 4th Brigade in delaying Guderian appears to minimize one of the few Soviet successes early in the campaign. Their narrative seems designed to protect Guderian's reputation by failing to mention his failure to seize the Trubchevsk pocket and then claiming that he was "not really interested in Tula." The discussion about the fighting around Kalinin and Borodino also seemed to minimize German problems and Soviet successes. On the other hand, the authors exaggerate the role played by KV-1 and T-34 tanks in the Battle of Moscow, since few of these tanks were involved - the bulk of the Red Army's tank force at this time consisted of light tanks; their claim that "there was a much larger proportion of T-34s in the recently arrived [Soviet] units" in October 1941 is false, since T-34 production was at its lowest in this month and the new tank brigades were given only a company of T-34s at best. Instead, the Red Army was forced to start using British-made Matilda and Valentine tanks as substitutes (not mentioned in this book). As the authors see it, the Germans had a brief window of opportunity after closing the Vyazma-Bryansk pocket where there was almost nothing between the Wehrmacht and Moscow. I have to agree with this assessment to some extent, that the Germans had a brief moment to "go for it," but bad weather and limited supplies robbed them of the initiative. This period, 7-12 October doesn't get much examination on the German side, due to the focus on the destruction of the encircled Soviet armies at Vyazma-Bryansk, but clearly mistakes were made. Zetterling and Anders avoid pointing any fingers. The book concludes just before the Soviet counteroffensive on 5 December, but offer only a brief overview of the final two weeks of combat. I found some aspects of this book a bit disappointing, with less detail than some other books already written. On the other hand, the photos were very nice and the authors offered a fairly detailed conclusion.

Firstly I do not agree with the writer that this battle if lost by the Russians would have changed little in the war. What could have happened if Moscow had fallen is mind blowing?I agree with the writer on his main reasons why Moscow held - the weather.However, there were many other factors e.g. dreadful German intelligence. The writer does note how awful it was and some of the difficulties that it faced. What the writer does not state is that German intelligence on Russia's military was worse than the British, who had no intention of invading Russia. It maybe far less justified then the writer claims.Furthermore, although the writer does not emphasis it, I think that luck should be mentioned here as a factor for the German initial success. The Germans were very lucky in this stage of the war. Change a roll of the dice and the German attack in Russia might have collapsed before Moscow.Although the writer stress on Germany is correct as they were the attacking power. I would also have liked to have seen is more detail on the Russian side of the conflict.Overall, the book is extremely well written. Although I have read often on the subject, I found a lot in this book that I did not know. I am sure you will too.
