If you are a minority, American Indian, Asian, Latino, bowler, water skier, golfer or raise cows or horses, this book is a gold mine for you. If you are an average, middle income caucasion that lives in Ohio, there is very little for you in this book. I also found that a lot of the links did not work, and many scholarships expire in the first couple months of the year. I think you need to buy the book for 2017 in November of 2016 if it is available. I was pretty disappointed.
Not as helpful as I had hoped. Although we did find 4 scholarships to apply for, I had hoped for more. I can see how this may help others- especially minorities, athletes and moms. If you aren't any of those, best to peruse this book at the library.
Many special interest scholarships listed that aren't appropriate for 95% of the general public. Good for leads to websites where you can gather additional information. Don't expect it to be a one size fits all - it's just a resource.
Really helpful book. Really prepares me for scholarships. Prepare to use a highlighter​, post bookmarks, and a calendar. This book is huge. Goodluck.
Wasn't incredibly useful, unfortunately. I will say that the scholarships included are accurate and accessible 8-9 out of 10 times. Plenty of scholarships listed, but very few that I qualified for despite having a high GPA. The scholarships can be VERY specific. Another downside was that it listed many "contest"-like awards. IE, enter your information and get a chance to win XYZ amount of money.
A lot of repeated scholarships that we find in lesser priced books. Other scholarship/grant books lead you to the specific contact site, this makes you follow codes that go through their site first.
This book is much larger than I had expected, at least 3-4 inches thick. It has an expanded index that is easy to follow and find what you need. 13 types of indexes total, from hobbies to career, religion and more. This book is well worth the price and the research is up to you. Good Luck
HUNDREDS of pages of scholarships. Aprox. 4 - 6 scholarships per page. of course, there are minimum qualifications for most. Easy to apply for the scholarships online. Short essay required for most. I've applied for several but only received confirmation emails that I applied so far. Plenty more to apply for.
